DescriptionThis is a photograph of the Hutton family posing outside their bakery and confectionary store in Balclutha. Archibald Hutton established the store in 1897, having previously had a bakery in Anderson Bay, Dunedin.

Interestingly, Archibald Hutton died as a result of a hornets sting to the back of the neck received while on holiday in Canada. He died shortly after his return to New Zealand. His wife Grace out lived him by 26 years, passing away in 1947 aged 96.

Located where Raj's Resturant now is.
