DescriptionThis is a 30min snapshot video for the hour long oral history interviewed Tiffany Jenks of the Clutha District Libraries conducted with Kath Geddes of Lawrence on 27 July 2021.

Kath speaks of her parents early beginnings farming at Tahatika up the Owaka Valley, their shift to Lawrence, her childhood during the war years, her marriage to Gerald Geddes, and their life running the Lawrence 4 Square for 28-years. She also touches on their role in the Lawrence Lions Club.

The second half of the interview can be listened to via the audio recording which is attached to Kath's oral history file on the site. In the second half, Kath discusses the Lions Club, Fire Brigade, Presbyterian Church, Plunket, and the changing social life of the wider Lawrence community. Additionally, at the end Kath discusses her mother's family settling up the Owaka Valley in the 1870s, and Gerald's Chinese ancestry.
