BiographyBeatrice May Cousins nee Hore was born at Blue Spur on April 22, 1898. In 1921, she married George Robert Cousins. The couple settled at Waitahuna and raised their family there. Beatrice collected items of interest to local history which she displayed in a dedicated building. Some this collection is now in the Tuapeka Goldfields Museum.
Beatrice was heavily involved with scouts. For her dedication to the organisation, she was awarded a Queens Service Medal.
The Cousins family have contributed a collection of famly photographs to Clutha Heritage, documenting aspects of Beatrice and George's life.
