About
Clutha Heritage is a digital community archive documenting historic and contemporary resources relevant to the Clutha District.
Hosted by the Clutha District Libraries, Clutha Heritage provides an online content platform for community groups, historical societies, and individuals to preserve, share and celebrate the stories of the Clutha District.
Clutha District Libraries encourages groups and individuals to digitise their resources that reflect ‘Our Places,’ making important information freely available for those who seek to discover, research, and learn about heritage and culture of the Clutha District.
Clutha District Libraries can support you to contribute content to Clutha Heritage. Anyone with internet access can contribute to Clutha Heritage. All five of our libraries offer free access to computers, internet, and heritage digitisation equipment. Our digitisation equipment has been purchased with public use in mind and is therefore easy to use. Our staff are trained to teach others how to use this equipment. They are also trained to assist with uploading content.
Content uploaded to Clutha Heritage must meet our collection policy and comply with relevant copyright, privacy, and discrimination laws. Clutha District Libraries does not own the content uploaded to Clutha Heritage; however, we monitor uploads to ensure that these conditions are met. For more info
If you wish to contribute a large collection, our Community Heritage Coordinator can support you with workflow planning etc. We are also able to bulk ingest content from existing collection management sites such as Past Perfect, saving the need to replicate digitisation works already completed.
If your organisation would like to become a content partner, please follow this link for information on the process.
