DescriptionCharlotte Dunbar, born in 1883, was the daughter of Catherine nee McDonald and James Dunbar. James operated a bootmakers business at Waipori from around 1870 until his untimely death via accident in 1889.
Lottie's mother took on the sole responsibility of raising her and her five sisters. The youngest was only three months old at the time.
Elizabeth Dunbar operated a grocer business at Waipori to support her family.
In June 1897, Elizabeth remarried to William Wilson. In 1896, electoral records show William as a bootmaker at Waipori.
Lottie Dunbar never married. She lived her days in Dunedin on Hillside Road just down from her younger sisters Helen and Annie. She died on 28 August 1956 aged 73.
