DescriptionThis is possibly a photograph of Eliza Knight nee Cauldwell.

Born in 1871, Eliza Cauldwell was the daughter of Sam and Eliza Annie Cauldwell. Sam owned the Bridge Hotel at Waipori.

In 1890, Eliza married William Knight. The pair both grew up in Waipori, and had likely known each other for many years prior to their marriage.

The couple had eight children. Two sons fought in World War One, and their daughter Rowena died of Influenza in 1918. She was a nurse at Dunedin at the time.

Eliza died in 1937 and is buried in the Anderson Bay Cemetery.
