HistoryNamed for James Adam, a passenger of the Philip Lang, Adams Flat is 11kms west of Milton near Glenore. European, and later Chinese, goldminers produced roughly 50,000 ounces of fine gold from this area. The usual facilities which support goldfields popped up at this time including shanties, the Adams Flat School (1875-1898) and the Adams Flat post office (1884-1948). Today, this area is a farming district.
