HistoryLocated across the Clutha River from Clydevale, James Chapman Smith developed the land as 'River Bank' and later Greenfield Station. In 1905 the Governemnt split the run into 39 settler farms of approximately 300 to a thousand acres. Today the township consists of the Clutha Valley School, the Greenfield Tavern, and the Clutha Valley Volunteer Fire Station.
