Collection SummaryKathleen Ann Geddes nee Gutheries has lived all her 88-years in the Lawrence area.

Kath speaks of her parents early beginnings farming at Tahatika up the Owaka Valley, their shift to Lawrence, her childhood during the war years, her marriage to Gerald Geddes, and their life running the Lawrence 4 Square for 28-years. She also touches on their role in the Lawrence Lions Club.

During the second half of the interview Kath discusses the Lions Club, Fire Brigade, Presbyterian Church, Plunket, and the changing social life of the wider Lawrence community. Additionally, at the end Kath discusses her mother's family settling up the Owaka Valley in the 1870s, and Gerald's Chinese ancestry.
